My name’s Leila Sanderson aka Skinny and I’m going to be curating the Greg Hatton aka Twiggy blog- is that the right word? curating? – I’ve never blogged before – so please bare with me! I’ve been working full time with Twiggy since October 09 and don’t tell him – but I totally love it!!! I intend to post photos of the diverse things we make here in Melbourne and at the Butter Factory in Newstead and also the beautiful landscaping work that Twiggy creates. A little about me: I’m from a small ex-mining town in the UK called Ilkeston or Ilsen to the locals – its the epitome of ‘Its Grim Up North’! Don’t tell my parents I said that – they still live there!! Its in Derbyshire and is very close to both Nottingham and Derby cities and although its ‘grim’ its near some very beautiful lush green English countryside. I moved to London aged 19 and lived and studied Fine Art there for 8 years. I was supposed to study textiles, but I changed my mind after I discovered there were no boys doing the course – whereas the sculpture department was loaded with em!! I moved to Melbourne in 1999 and I love this city more with every day I live here.

twiggy you should have been more clear about how you got to where you are today.. Before you became a model if that’s what you call it you knew back then and you know well today that no agency would except you as they considered you a freak and didl’nt like the look of you, not your face that was pretty but then we all know that there is always plenty of pretty and beautiful woman all over the world.
So you had a a very ambitiouse agent who wanted to make his mark and a very ambitiouse young woman which is fine, but when you send out a messages that this is the normal way young woman and teenager (who are very fragile) should look, get a grip. Because of your history the only gift you have given to the world is anorexia body dimorphism and in extreme cases of young girls death through starvation. I’m not blaming you for all those years ago, but I am blaming you now, I cant believe you have never taken some responsibility for being the seed that started all this, and as a mother yourself, there was nothing stopping you from publicly talking out and admitting the truth about what really happened,which lets face it was a gimmick that took on, and went far to far. And to this day has had disastrous consequence .. Which has left the rest of the world still picking up the pieces after you.
